Zoe Samsarelou studied the piano in Volos and  at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, in Greece. She went on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin under the guidance of professor Laszlo Simon and graduated from the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg, Germany, under the guidance of professor Marian Migdal.

She has attended courses by professors Hans Leygraf, Christoph Lieske and Arne Torger in Salzburg Summer Academy as well as professors Karlheinz Kämmerlink and Gyorgy Sebök in Berlin and Julia and Konstantin Ganev in Thessaloniki.


She has given a great number of piano recitals as well as  chamber music concerts and participated in festivals and congresss in Greece, Germany, Italy, Malta, Turkey, Algeria, Egypt and Syria.


She has performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Greece, such as the State Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Symphonic Orchestra of Thessaloniki, the Symphonic Orchestra of the “Macedonia” University,  the  “Orchestra of the Arts”  of Veria and the Chamber Music Ensemble “N. Mantzaros” as well as with the Camerata-Chamber Music Orchestra Saygun in Turkey.


Ms Samsarelou’s repertoire consists of classical as well as contemporary compositions and works by Greek composers. She has also recorded for Greek National Radio and Television. She has recorded a CD with works for solo piano of Astor Piazzolla and participated in the cd produced by the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki with works of Greek composers. She has performed traditional and modern tango music as well.


Since 2000, she has been Cultural Director of “Pelion International Music Festival and Academy”, which takes place every summer in  East Pelion, Central Greece. 


In 2004  Ms Samsarelou  founded the ensemble for two pianos “Temperamentum” which consists of performances by pianists who have graduated from her class. In 2006, in collaboration with the baritone Professor Mesut Iktu, she created the “Duet for the Greek and Turkish Friendship”, with performances all over Greece and Turkey. 


Zoe Samsarelou has given master classes at the Conservatory “N.Paganini” in Genoa, the High School of Music in Damascus and the University’s Conservatory “Mimar Sinan” in Istanbul. In addition, she is the representative in Greece of the  Association E.Cu.Me. (Cultural Exchanges in the Mediterranean-Marseille).


She has worked as a piano teacher and as an Artistic Director at several Conservatories in Thessaloniki and as an Instructor at the University of Macedonia. Since 1994 she has been teaching the piano at the State Conservatory in Thessaloniki.


Apart of her musical studies, Ms Samsarelou has  graduated from the School of Archaeology at Aristotle University as well.
