Zoe Samsarelou studied the piano in Volos and at the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, in Greece. She went on to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin and graduated from the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg, Germany, under the guidance of Professor Marian Migdal.


Apart of her musical studies, Zoe Samsarelou has graduated from the School of Archaeology at Aristotle University as well. Over the last years, she has been interested in focusing on the ancient Greek civilisation and its influence on musical compositions. This has led her to present a unique series of compositions for the piano inspired by Greek mythology. In 2023 a double CD will be released by Divine Art Records with solo piano pieces interpreted by Zoe Samsarelou, under the title "Ekstasis-Dionysus, Nymphs and Satyrs".


Since 2000, she has been Cultural Director of “International PelionFestival”, which takes place every summer in mount Pelion, Central Greece.


She has given a great number of piano recitals as well as chamber music concerts and participated in festivals in many countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. In Greece and Turkey she
has performed as a soloist with various orchestras and has recorded for Greek National Radio and Television.


Her repertoire consists of classical as well as contemporary compositions and works by Greek composers. She has recorded a CD with works for solo piano of Astor Piazzolla and participated in the cd produced by the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki, which includes works by Greek composers.


In 2004 Zoe Samsarelou founded the “Krama Piano Ensemble”, for two pianos and many pianists, which consists of performances by pianists who have graduated from her class. In 2006, in collaboration with the baritone Professor Mesut Iktu, she created the “Duet for the Greek and Turkish Friendship”, with performances all over Greece and Turkey. In addition, she is the representative in Greece of the Association E.Cu.Me. (Cultural Exchanges in the Mediterranean-
www.ecume.org) whose headquarters are in Marseille. In this framework she has participated in many meetings of the Mediterranean Conservatories.


Zoe Samsarelou has given masterclasses at the Conservatory “N.Paganini” in Genoa, the High the Conservatory “Mimar Sinan” in Istanbul. She has worked as an Instructor at the University of Macedonia and since 1994 she has been professor at the State Conservatory in Thessaloniki.
